About Me

From a young age, I’ve always had a passion for building and fixing things. Whether it was constructing with Lego or working with other building toys, I was constantly creating more intricate projects. My curiosity about how things worked drove me at 10 years of age to take apart household items like our faulty vacuum cleaner so I could fix it. This hands-on approach taught me valuable skills early on, and I spent countless hours reading how it works book and experimenting to better understand how things functioned.

As I grew older, my projects evolved. I began building treehouses, furniture, and even moved on to working with cars, motorbikes, and electronics. Professionally, I started my career in customer service and retail management before transitioning into IT. I found computers fascinating - the complexity of hardware and software working together. I loved designing systems, and solving issues, the more challenging, the better. This passion led me to run my own IT consultancy, where I worked across various industries and partnered with well-known companies.

However, outside of my IT work, I always found myself building or fixing something. I couldn’t stand things that didn’t work properly or were poorly designed. This led me to take on home improvement projects myself when tradespeople didn’t meet my standards. What started as painting and decorating soon expanded to full-scale projects. Over the years, I’ve completed everything from bathroom refits and kitchen installations to building a summer house, constructing a timber-frame garage, removing a chimney and installing a new free standing combustion stove, rewiring and replumbing homes, landscaping gardens, and even building treehouses for my kids.

I’ve now renovated several homes, taking on as much of the work as possible. My most recent undertaking was a three-year renovation of a dilapidated 1950s house, where I extended and upgraded almost every aspect of the property as an owner-builder.

After a personal life change led me to sell that house, I took time to reflect on my next steps. While I still love computers, I became disillusioned with the corporate world and realized that once the power goes off, nothing tangible remains. I’ve always been drawn to the satisfaction of creating something real and lasting with my hands.

So, encouraged by friends and family who’ve long suggested I pursue my passion for making and fixing things, I decided to become a full-time handyman. I bring with me not only a wealth of practical experience but also a strong background in customer service and business management.

If you’re looking for someone who values clear communication, understands the importance of running a business well, and delivers high-quality work at a fair price, I’d love to help. Feel free to get in touch, and let’s discuss how I can assist you with your next project.
